 Objectives
   
The objective of this course is to equip participants with a practical understanding of how internet search engines operate and how internet searches are executed. The course seeks to equip participants with key techniques needed to evaluate and redesign an internet web portal so as to maximize the website's online exposure and organic search ranking on major internet search engines.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
Understand how search engines scour, catalogue and retrieve information from the internet.
Participants will be able to identify (initially with the help of the trainer, but subsequently on their own) aspects of their web portal which will prevent search engines from recognizing their content and attaining a high page rank
Participants will be trained to use freely available online resources to diagnose website and make quantitative assessments of a websites value vis a vie common industry practices.
Be able to formulate an effective SEO optimization plan for a website which will result in tangible benefits in terms of visibility and page ranking.
