Coaching for Managers
Coaching is the new managerial methodology. Jack Welch, former CEO of GE says, "in the future, those managers who can coach will get promoted, those that can't, won't!"
So what is coaching and why do today's leaders and managers need to learn it?

Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise his or her own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. Coaching can be about:
• Performance - enhancing existing behaviours and developing new ones.
• Development - creating new values or sense of self.
• Transformation - discovering a new direction or vision.

Coaching requires a number of competencies including: asking good questions, listening, goal-setting, giving feedback and finding the leverage point for change.
