 "Leadership In Action" Seminar
Business organisations in today's world need effective leadership more than ever before if they are to be successful. This is very much so as today's business leaders must deal with many varied competitive challenges on a much more global stage than they did just a decade ago.

On 21 August 2006, about 50 leaders came together at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel to hear two leading writers/speakers discuss on what makes a good leader and getting the most out of employees. The two speakers of this Leadership In Action seminar were Nanz Chong-Komo, author of national best-seller One Business 99 Lessons, and Chester Elton, the Vice President of O.C. Tanner Recognition Company, the world's largest employee recognition firm.

In her presentation titled Entrepreneurship In Leadership, Nanz showed that being an entrepreneur is not just about starting a business from scratch. It is about having the will and passion to succeed and having the courage to do things differently from others. Like entrepreneurs, successful business leaders are those able to tap on that "can-do" spirit to make things happen.

Chester, on the other hand, shared on the importance of recognition to attract and retain the best people for any organisation. He revealed on how to unleash human potential, improve employee commitment and enhance profitability by becoming "The 24-Carrot Manager."
